HIKING DAY TOURS SANREMO, ITALY

Fancy a day exploring the hidden mountain trails of the Sanremo hinterlands on foot? All you need is a good pair of trainers/ hiking shoes and us!

We will hike for the day, exploring the winding mountain trails above Sanremo, taking in the fresh air, stunning scenery and tranquillity of the mountain forest.

We have a range of set tours from Sanremo but can plan a bespoke hike for you too.

CLASSIC

Sanremo - Monte Bignone: 3-3.5 hrs,

Monte Bignone - San Romolo: 1.5 hrs.

Transfer back to Sanremo: 25 mins

This is a steep walk out of Sanremo, mostly on footpaths until the final 3.5km to the summit of Bignone which becomes an off road hike on steep mountain single track. Walking sticks are highly recommended, particularly for the descent into San Romolo which continues along off road steep mountain single track.

BAJARDO & BIGNONE

Transfer - San Romolo: 25 mins

San Romolo - Monte Bignone: 1.5 hrs

Monte Bignone - Bajardo: 1.5 hrs

Bajardo - San Romolo: 1hr 50

Transfer - Sanremo: 25 mins or San Romolo - Sanremo 2 hrs

This is an off road hike on steep mountain single track to Bignone. Walking sticks are recommended, particularly for the descent into Bajardo which continues on off road woodland. The walk back to San Romolo is slighly undulating on wide mountain tracks

BIGNONE SHORT

Transfer - San Romolo: 25 mins

San Romolo - Monte Bignonge: 1.5 hrs

Monte Bignone - San Romolo: 1.5 hrs

Transfer back to Sanremo: 25 mins

This is an off road hike on steep mountain single track to Bignone. Walking sticks are recommended, particularly for the descent back into San Romolo which continues on mountain tracks.

EASY DAY HIKE

Transfer - San Romolo: 25 mins

San Romolo pine forest hike. 1.5 hrs +

Transfer to Sanremo: 25 mins

This is an off road walk on woodland tracks, there are some steeper sections on mountain tracks and some on paths.

BAJARDO SPLIT DAY HIKE

Sanremo - Monte Bignone: 3-3.5 hrs

Monte Bignone - Bajardo: 1.5 hrs.

Public Transport to Sanremo: 35 mins, limited timings

This is a steep walk out of Sanremo, mostly on footpaths until the final 3.5km to the summit of Bignone which becomes an off road hike on steep mountain single track. Walking sticks are highly recommended, particularly for the descent into Bajardo which continues through off road woodland with some loose ground

FULL MONTE DAY HIKE

Transfer - San Romolo: 25 mins

San Romolo- Perinaldo Col Termini 0.5 hr
Perinaldo Col Termini - Apricale - Bajardo: 3 hrs

Bajardo- Monte Bignone - San Romolo: 3 hrs

Transfer to Sanremo: 25 mins

Briefily we hike on steep mountain tracks, before descding down a paved path. The next section of the hike is up through more vegetation than the other routes and steep in some sections. From Bajardo to Monte Bignone, the hike is through woodland forest with the last 1km on steep and some loose ground, before the steep and rocky descent into San Romolo. (it is also an alternative to cut straight to San Romolo without the Bignone summit)

We will provide you a packed lunch enjoy our picnic en route (sandwich, fruit, cereal bar, water). Please feel free to bring your own additional snacks or cash for cafes.

Cafe stops are available at San Romolo and Bajardo.

We always like to discuss our hike routes with you first so we choose are route suitable for both you and the weather. All of our hikes are stunning and work around you.

Bring with you:

Backpack to carry additional clothing, packed lunch etc

Water bottle/ camelbak or similar

Cash for cafe stops

Suitable clothing for the weather/ sun screen/ insect repellent

Comfortable trainers/ walking shoes

One or a pair of walking sticks are recommended to help with steep terrain. We can arrange hire of a set for 10 Euro/ day with advance notice
